![]() ![]() One of my coworkers asked for her leftovers to go, and somehow they made a mistake and could not find the leftovers. The sides of asparagus and creamed spinach were also excellent. It came on four separate plates, they already divided them up, and the serving size was perfect. We asked for two Caesar Salads to split between the four of us. This was my first time trying the special, aged Fillet Mignon on the bone. I came here for an early dinner on a business trip with coworkers. DO NOT GO HERE WITH A SMALL GROUP OF 2, as apparently they only see value in large groups. I had expected high end service for a restaurant of this reputation but were feeling unwanted and not important after spending $400.00 for a meal which was to be the highlight of our NYC visit. Our table service was slow and unfriendly except from the waiters helpers who were great. We got the attention of the very unhappy lady seating people and she finally seated us in a dark corner where we needed to use the flashlight on our phone to see our menu. that was quickly turned sour once we arrived and briefly waited on the 2nd floor for our table and for some reason people just coming up the stairs were seated before us like we were invisible. I have had more friendly and cordial conversations while ordering at McDonalds to be honest! Upon entering the restaurant all excited about a fantastic. My wife & I decided on Smith & Wollensky after much research ahead of time, and while the food was great…. Prefer keens or del frisco or other adresses all around ! More You should skip this decadent place for other more friendly and tasty places … Sometimes we even felt like trapped in a candid camera but actually is was not. They prefer flooding glasses with liquids, throwing plates on your table, sometimes the beverage or food on you and no respect for the guests… We noted butlers with dirty clothes/ stained shirts, behaving rude, flirting with the female employees, obviously more concerned by their private affairs more than guests… they have no interest in their job, showing some total disrespect for the house and the clients … they should then resign and leave their place to new ones… Looking around obviously the employees dont care about the house and the clients. The place is overpacked which is not acceptable in these post-covid times… and the outside terrace is empty but they try to force guests to sit outside… If not for the meat (but now steakhouses sell decent meat mostly everywhere in nyc) this institution is on a real decline… big. Especially since getting chefs, service employees has been a challenge.Īs opposes to other S&W restaurant in the US, the original S&W is not even suitable for the most basic tourists ! We're especially very kind to restaurants and SO happy if they survived during Covid. We tend to order our steaks on the rare side as you can always ask the kitchen to add more heat to cook it a bit more. My husband and I shared the Porterhouse (For Two). Our son had a prime rib perfectly cooked. Our sommelier was great, well versed on their wines and has been with them for years.īecause I don't eat that much, our son and I shared a backed potato, we all shared the sautéed spinach and a Caesar salad. Our dinner was amazing as it was a month before when my husband and son flew out to a Yankee game and had a great meal there. The bar was packed with finally after work people and others, now with little Covid scare. just went to celebrate that time and still had a great meal. Our 3 month old was in his little carry on who was happy sleeping with the late night dinner sounds. Our first trip was 23 yrs ago when getting off a plane from San Francisco for a late night dinner as they serve late.
